It appeared from a couple of the frames at the start of the night that the Slitviewer shutter might be sticking a little. Problem seemed to clear itself after several exposures. We saw a slight amount of image elongation in our SN SPIcam images. Elongation was completely in Az direction. (telescope was pointing AZ=301.8, Alt=39,7). Dataq looked fine. The wind picked up towards the latter part of the night and unfortunately we were facing directly into it. The gusts were pushing the primary around quite a bit and seeing deteriorated to 2.5 arc sec with the star dancing all over (well, it was jumping) on the guider. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:49 DISslit -75(-140) 43 42 2.0 3.8 2.8 3.0 2.3 none 2.0 18:38 DISslit -125(-222) 117 58 2.3 2.9 2.2 2.4 2.3 none 1.6 20:03 DISslit -125(-247) 127 73 2.4 2.2 1.7 2.1 2.1 none 1.1 22:38 DISslit -125(-219) 235 71 2.9 2.7 1.9 2.4 2.8 none 1.3 00:23 SPIcam -25(44) 307 43 2.9 2.8 2.1 2.4 2.9 r' 0.9 00:29 NA2gdr -2896(30103) 305 42 2.9 2.7 2.1 2.4 2.9 R 0.84 02:31 SPIcam 0(94) 295 34 3.1 3.0 2.4 2.7 3.1 g' 1.9 05:28 APOLLO -75(603) 54 53 2.0 2.0 1.4 1.7 1.9 none 2.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 38 24 13 277 (W) 592 pt. cldy none 17:01 37 23 12 280 (W) 630 mst. clr none 18:01 36 24 16 301 (WNW) 617 clear none 19:01 37 21 19 292 (WNW) 573 clear none 20:01 36 21 24 300 (WNW) 542 clear none 21:01 36 20 23 301 (WNW) 589 clear none 22:01 37 19 19 297 (WNW) 577 clear none 23:01 37 19 13 295 (WNW) 596 clear none 00:01 37 19 20 300 (WNW) 579 clear none 01:01 38 18 20 301 (WNW) 689 clear none 02:01 38 20 19 280 (W) 483 clear none 03:01 37 21 14 281 (W) 356 clear none 04:01 37 21 16 264 (W) 456 Lt.
