Apollo had some bad seeing at the beginning of the evening. Thin clouds moved in around 20:00, but moved in and out the rest of the evening. Bally's class spent some time on DIS, then looked through the eyepiece for a bit. Then they put DIS back on we had around 1.0" seeing. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half went smoothly, with occasional high clouds and steadily improving seeing. We did more DIS work on various targets, some narrowband imaging with SPIcam (0.65" was the best for the night), and more eyepiece play in morning twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:20 DISslit -175(-196) -107 31 2.7 3.6 3.1 3.1 2.5 - 1.5 22:50 DISslit -50(-75) -88 40 4.6 3.7 3.3 3.7 3.9 - 1.2 01:40 DISslit -75(-135) 9 75 4.2 3.9 3.5 3.7 4.1 - 0.96 03:35 SPIcam -25(71) -65 63 4.3 4.0 3.5 3.7 4.1 SII 0.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 45 19 8 302 (WNW) 543 clear none 17:01 42 15 0 58 (ENE) 497 mstly clr none 18:01 38 25 13 85 (E) 1317 mstly clr none 19:01 37 25 11 109 (ESE) 1421 ptly cldy none 20:01 36 22 12 112 (ESE) 1318 mstly clr none 21:01 36 19 6 107 (ESE) 1349 mstly clr none 22:01 40 -1 8 189 (S) 258 mstly clr none 23:01 40 3 5 188 (S) 370 mstly clr none 00:01 40 4 5 211 (SSW) 375 mstly clr none 01:01 40 5 2 218 (SW) 372 mstly clr none 02:01 39 11 6 190 (S) 395 mstly clr none 03:01 40 14 7 218 (SW) 459 mstly clr none 04:01 40 11 6 221 (SW) 374 clear none 05:01 40 13 7 235 (SW) 438 clear none 06:01 39 12 4 213 (SSW) 380 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
