Photometric most of the night. Strangely warm and dry. Structure and Dome Air temps went out sometime around 10:20. There was a call for a GRB tonight. The 1st half observer was gracious enough to give them an hour at the end of his night. So, from midnight till 1:00 we tried to get GRB observations. However, a clear plan of action was not really established. DIS was the instrument mounted, so we tried first taking deep images with the DIS slitviewer. It could not be seen there. Then it was decided to put on SPIcam, which was done at 12:30. I stayed in the dome so I could switch the instruments back since 2nd half was using DIS. But there were some user problems with SPIcam and we were running out of time. So then I ended up putting DIS back on. No real data was collected for the GRB. Seeing was much better tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:30 DISslit -100(-36) 234 42 5.4 7.6 6.0 6.1 5.7 -– 1.6 22:25 DISslit -125(-136) 29 54 6.6 -- 5.0 5.3 -- -– 1.6 01:25 DISslit -50(-11) 278 52 5.7 -- 5.5 5.8 -- -– 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 45 27 5 271 (W) 247 clear none 17:01 42 27 3 254 (WSW) 265 clear none 18:01 41 27 1 354 (N) 302 clear none 19:01 43 24 10 42 (NE) 256 clear none 20:01 42 21 9 48 (NE) 231 clear none 21:01 44 12 7 40 (NE) 228 clear none 22:01 45 -4 5 359 (N) 165 clear none 23:01 42 -4 5 287 (WNW) 151 clear none 00:01 45 -8 6 42 (NE) 134 clear none 01:01 45 -7 7 10 (N) 123 clear none 02:01 44 -6 14 18 (NNE) 136 clear none 03:01 43 -7 6 60 (ENE) 88 clear none 04:01 45 -9 7 16 (NNE) 60 clear none 05:01 46 -10 6 355 (N) 36 clear none 06:01 47 -11 6 351 (N) 28 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
