The winds shut us down at 21:00, we re-opened at 23:20 when winds were only gusting 32mph (down from 44mph). Continued high winds most of 1st half. Winds were reasonable 2nd half, but seeing was pretty poor. Conditions seemed to finally stabilize at about 4:00. Seeing improved a little. SN observations were collected without any problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:15 DISslit -150(-343) -5 50 -0.7 0.7 0.0 0.2 -0.6 -– 1.8 19:55 DISslit -50(-252)-10 57 -0.4 -0.2 -0.7 -0.3 -0.4 -– 1.7 23:25 DISslit -25(-230)-25 44 0.4 -0.6 -0.4 -0.6 0.0 -– 2.0 01:40 DISslit 0(-112)-65 25 1.6 1.1 0.5 0.7 1.4 -– 2.0 03:05 DISslit -50(-185)-64 35 1.1 1.2 0.6 0.6 1.0 -– 2.0 04:15 DISslit -50(-207)-49 46 1.8 1.1 0.5 0.6 1.5 -– 1.3 05:15 DISslit -25(-161)-56 39 2.2 1.2 0.7 0.9 1.8 -– 1.6 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 33 2 15 303 (WNW) 508 ptly cldy none 17:01 32 7 20 328 (NNW) 410 mstly clr none 18:01 32 10 7 343 (NNW) 305 clear none 19:01 31 11 16 328 (NNW) 347 clear none 20:01 31 13 15 8 (N) 349 clear none 21:01 31 14 16 60 (ENE) 383 clear none 22:01 31 15 36 30 (NNE) 246 clear none 23:01 31 15 20 24 (NNE) 216 clear none 00:01 35 17 32 28 (NNE) 139 clear none 01:01 34 16 17 26 (NNE) 122 clear none 02:01 36 12 18 54 (NE) 110 clear none 03:01 34 17 16 20 (NNE) 108 clear none 04:01 35 16 17 14 (NNE) 131 clear none 05:01 36 15 20 16 (NNE) 102 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
