Snow & fog before sunset. Around 11pm the sky cleared and humidity began to back down. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan On inspection, we found the snow on the dome both dripping and blowing. Snow from trees was blowing onto the cloudcam while the Sloan observers experimented with it. The primary mirror was well above freezing temperature, so we couldn't risk anything blowing onto it. The dome remained closed for the rest of the night while I worked on some troubleshooting and retrieval of archived data. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 39 39 21 203 (SSW) 599 cloudy rain 17:00 37 38 10 240 (WSW) 22901 cloudy rain 18:00 32 32 16 352 (N) 2072 cloudy lt snow 19:00 30 30 3 33 (NNE) 811 cloudy snow 20:00 31 31 15 270 (W) 515 cloudy snow 21:00 31 30 12 285 (WNW) 592 cloudy lt snow 22:00 32 29 19 282 (WNW) 336 mstly cldy none 23:00 31 29 9 336 (NNW) 144 mstly clr none 00:00 31 24 16 341 (NNW) 389 clear blown snow 01:00 31 28 8 349 (N) 190 clear blown snow 02:00 30 26 9 34 (NE) 211 clear blown snow 03:00 29 23 11 41 (NE) 209 clear blown snow 04:00 28 21 16 22 (NNE) 142 clear blown snow 05:00 29 21 6 359 (N) 145 clear blown snow 06:00 28 20 8 33 (NNE) 111 clear blown snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
