I slewed the telescope a couple times and then decided to go up and manually move the telescope to see if I could get the mirror a little happier. This seemed to help the T Load cell but A,B, and C were still looking pretty bad. We were pointed in the wind and it was really gusty (and cold), my guess after going up there was it was severe wind shake. I slewed the telescope out of the wind and things calmed down some. By the end of the night all looked well again (and the wind gusts were much subsided too). No problems otherwise, well until I closed down. The mirror covers would not close remotely, said an eyelid was open, although I issued an 'eye close' command. I opened all eyelids manually and then closed them. All looked fine when I went up there so maybe the cold was doing something funny to the switches. I closed the mirror covers manually as well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU02 D T/H 00:15 00:35 noisy PMSS load cells; wind? ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:58 DISslit -50(535) -6 61 0.8/2.8 216 17 none 1.5 00:36 DISslit 25(398) 86 67 -2.2/-2.5 265 30 none 1.7 05:37 Echelle -8(-566) 344 53 -6.8/-6.7 311 11 ND1 2.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 16 18 217 (SW) 1320 Mst.
