It was never so threatening that I closed, however there was a 15 minute time frame when clouds were too thick to observe. Fortunately this occured during an instrument change, so no downtime is being recorded. The first half observer did experience a problem where autoftp would not transfer files to the CU observing room Windows PC. A problem report detailing the symptoms was filed. In the meantime I ran the slitviewer and guiders the rest of the half, since neither would display at CU due to the inability to transfer files. No time was lost. Second half was smooth and quiet. One old problem resurfaced however, ruining a 30 minute exposure. The DIS Red Camera "Step Pyramid" Noise reappeared for just one exposure and then elusively disappeared again. No other problems the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC04 E T/S --:-- --:-- TUI autoftp would not transfer files NM03 D I/H 01:54 02:24 Red Camera "Step Pyramid" Noise ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:55 SPIcam 30(1140) 225 73 11.2/11.3 98 17 i 1.25 23:06 NA2gdr -1849(27150)2 46 11.1/11.2 112 21 R 1.20 01:15 dis-slit -20(904) 182 77 10.4/10.6 88 15 - 1.41 01:27 NA2gdr -5022(20077)197 78 10.5/10.6 83 16 R+nd2 0.9 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 65 51 8 187 (S) cloudy none 17:01 63 47 10 198 (SSW) cloudy none 18:01 59 45 3 180 (S) mstly clr none 19:01 56 44 8 117 (ESE) mstly clr none 20:01 54 46 13 80 (E) mstly cldy none 21:01 52 46 15 88 (E) clear none 22:01 52 42 15 88 (E) mstly cldy none 23:01 52 39 16 87 (E) mstly cldy none 00:01 51 39 14 86 (E) prtly cldy none 01:01 51 40 12 86 (E) mstly clr none 02:01 51 44 16 110 (ESE) mstly clr none 03:01 50 43 10 83 (E) clear none 04:01 50 42 9 87 (E) clear none 05:01 51 36 7 86 (E) prtly cldy none 06:01 54 21 10 133 (SE) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
