The Humidity was also in the upper 70% range but there didn't appear to be much of a rain threat so I opened the enclosure when my observers had finished their cals (early twilight). Seeing was excellent as soon as we focused (and the telescope was not in thermal equilibrium yet either!). The entire first half we had sub arc second seeing. We had one glitch that stopped the rotator during the first half of the night. A restart of the motors fixed the problem, but it was unclear what caused it in the first place. PR was submitted. I switched over to the second half program around 1AM, again seeing was excellent (0.77 arc sec with the slitview camera). About 2:30AM we started getting clouds forming overhead. About 02:45 I decided it was prudent to close the mirror covers, by 03:00 it was pretty much completely cloud covered and I opted to close the building. At 04:30 it was still completely cloud covered and I gave up for the remaining hour of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:50 NAIC -25(1268) 93 80 13.1/16.0 225 11 800nm 1.0 19:56 NA2gdr -3072(31927) 92 82 12.9/15.8 229 10 R 0.8 23:50 NAIC 50(1326) -32 42 13.3/13.2 233 9 800nm 0.9 01:17 DISSlit 10(1097) -8 52 12.6/13.0 254 6 R 0.77 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 60 48 10 256 (WSW) -- Pt.
