The user notice that his spicam images seemed slightly streaked in the azimuth direction. This was with the NA2 guider running. I wasn't sure what was going on to streak the images such. He also noticed it in unguided 150s exposures (about the same lenght of streak). The observer noticed that stars at high airmass trailed more than those at low air mass. At 01:48 the telescope encounteded a controller error. This time on the AZ axis. I quickly had the telescope back up and running and maybe only 5 mins were lost. The telescope temps were out all night long tonight, which caused the focus values to run high. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU03 guider T/H 20:50 21:25 NA2 guider hung, power cycled UW07 O T/H 01:48 01:53 AZ controller error ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:05 SPIcam 475(1534) 59 68 18.1/- 243 1 z' 0.57 20:10 NA2gdr 1036(30036) 57 69 17.8/- 237 1 R 0.63 01:12 DISslit 250(1314) 68 28 17.0/- 188 10 none 1.4 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 69 37 2 265 (W) Clear none 19:01 66 33 1 318 (NW) Clear none 20:01 65 32 1 251 (WSW) Clear none 21:01 65 31 6 228 (SW) Clear none 22:01 64 30 8 207 (SSW) Clear none 23:01 63 37 9 180 (S) Clear none 00:01 63 38 14 186 (S) Pt.
