At this time radar returns and visible lightning storms to the east, in our radar blind spot, and to the south were enough to keep me from opening the remainder of the night. I spent much of the first half catching up on email questions from observers, gathering scraps of userful last minute knowledge from Craig Loomis on his last day at APO and paying careful attention to the weather. Second half was spent watching the weather. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 47 4 261 (W) 331 cloudy none 17:01 66 46 4 271 (W) 312 cloudy none 18:01 67 46 6 319 (NW) 344 cloudy none 19:01 65 46 1 265 (W) 339 cloudy none 20:01 62 49 3 203 (SSW) 419 cloudy none 21:01 62 49 0 121 (ESE) 421 mstly cldy humid 22:01 57 52 14 165 (SSE) 790 mstly cldy humid 23:01 57 52 9 180 (S) 639 mstly cldy humid 00:01 55 52 8 217 (SW) 773 mstly cldy humid 01:01 54 51 13 302 (WNW) 1225 mstly cldy humid 02:01 53 51 11 327 (NNW) 883 mstly cldy humid 03:01 54 47 10 3 (N) 139 mstly cldy humid 04:01 57 46 18 9 (N) 175 mstly cldy none 05:01 56 45 3 275 (W) 141 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
