We had poor seeing at the beginning of the night, improving to near an arcsecond later. Heavier clouds drifted through for a few hours in the morning. Although we remained open and exposing, I counted some time as lost to weather because the exposures were useless. The telescope and instrument behaved perfectly, and there were only minor difficulties with the control software; some of the algorithms need fine-tuning to make it easier guiding through variable clouds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:22 SPIcam -475(1358) 249 47 17.4/19.5 135 18 6607 2.1 21:26 NA2gdr 0(29000) 250 46 17.4/19.4 142 19 R 1.6 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 78 33 12 272 (W) 612 ptly cldy none 17:01 75 33 12 282 (WNW) 697 ptly cldy none 18:01 76 33 15 272 (W) 728 ptly cldy none 19:01 75 33 10 247 (WSW) 716 mstly clr none 20:01 69 37 5 178 (S) 849 mstly clr none 21:01 63 39 17 136 (SE) 863 mstly clr none 22:01 64 37 15 165 (SSE) 786 ptly cldy none 23:01 65 36 14 168 (SSE) 856 mstly clr none 00:01 65 36 23 191 (S) 788 clear none 01:01 66 35 18 183 (S) 851 mstly clr none 02:01 65 34 19 216 (SW) 876 ptly cldy none 03:01 64 35 15 182 (S) 915 ptly cldy none 04:01 63 34 8 185 (S) 839 ptly cldy none 05:01 61 35 9 188 (S) 892 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
