I took twilight flats from inside the dome in order to see the weather better, and by the end of twilight I was satisfied that the threat wouldn't reach us. At the first focus, seeing was very good, but it degraded soon afterward as the southeast wind strengthened. I snuck in a Shack-Hartmann measurement during the program changeover, since some focus images from last night appeared quite comatic and there had been a change in pointing. Seeing was not really good enough for SH work, but I managed to get a measurement good enough to adjust the collimation. Second half had continued poor seeing, and clouds moving in after 04:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:15 SPIcam -100(1702) 129 65 18.7/20.0 149 18 R 0.86 22:42 SPIcam -250(1498) 217 54 17.0/18.0 143 20 R 1.38 00:54 S-H -375(1835) 241 59 16.3/16.3 141 24 - blah 01:24 DISslit -325(1243) 322 41 15.9/16.1 152 17 - 2.0 01:27 NA2gdr -2287(20712)322 41 15.8/16.1 164 17 R 1.5 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 76 31 15 217 (SW) 612 ptly cldy none 17:01 75 31 10 201 (SSW) 843 ptly cldy none 18:01 76 37 15 200 (SSW) 1027 ptly cldy none 19:01 74 39 11 220 (SW) 1006 ptly cldy none 20:01 68 38 13 161 (SSE) 1010 mstly clr none 21:01 66 38 19 156 (SSE) 1015 mstly clr none 22:01 64 42 23 149 (SSE) 1034 clear none 23:01 62 41 22 149 (SSE) 784 clear none 00:01 62 40 22 147 (SSE) 722 clear none 01:01 61 41 24 153 (SSE) 754 clear none 02:01 62 42 20 180 (S) 757 clear none 03:01 63 41 14 179 (S) 936 mstly clr none 04:01 64 39 11 199 (SSW) 896 ptly cldy none 05:01 61 40 14 173 (S) 844 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
