We opened after midnight to try to catch a faint asteroid, a task made more difficult by the bug discovered yesterday restricting us to 5s exposures on the DIS slitviewer. We were actually switching back and forth between slitview and TUI control of the slitviewer to try to get something through the clouds. Seeing was quite variable. At 01:00, we switched to work with APOLLO. The observers didn't want to take the time for a full instrument block, but we did a quick-and-very-dirty measurement of the instrument offset in order to ensure decent pointing. Then we confirmed pointing on a few stars and rushed off to lase at the moon. Everything seemed to go very well. Small puffy clouds gradually thinned out over the course of the morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:15 DISslit -25(1213) 142 69 16.1/17.4 135 17 - 1.21 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 48 6 201 (SSW) 355 cloudy lt rain 17:01 68 46 6 212 (SSW) 346 cloudy lt rain 18:01 67 46 1 225 (SW) 410 cloudy lt rain 19:01 65 45 5 218 (SW) 406 cloudy none 20:01 64 44 10 165 (SSE) 391 cloudy none 21:01 63 44 9 173 (S) 395 cloudy none 22:01 63 43 9 170 (S) 428 mstly cldy none 23:01 62 44 17 142 (SE) 468 mstly cldy none 00:01 61 44 15 133 (SE) 424 ptly cldy none 01:01 60 44 16 130 (SE) 473 ptly cldy none 02:01 60 44 14 141 (SE) 498 ptly cldy none 03:01 60 44 11 155 (SSE) 467 ptly cldy none 04:01 59 44 13 153 (SSE) 498 mstly clr none 05:01 59 42 2 188 (S) 401 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
