Tom and James were moving the telescope to the upper and lower limits (I think checking clearances and installing stuff for APOLLO. I noticed at 01:30 that the transverse load cell seemed a little unhappy (with some smallish oscillations present). I went upstairs and manually moved the telescope up and down, which calmed the load cell down and back to it's normal looking self. Clouds remained all night long with periods of light rain as well. I was unable to open tonight so we will need to take time tommorow night to finish up our pointing model. At 04:30 I gave up, there was no chance the clouds would clear in the next hour long enough to get our pointing model (the moon was completely obscured by the clouds) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 44 12 88 (E) 795 Cloudy none 17:01 73 44 9 124 (SE) 785 Cloudy none 18:01 68 39 7 184 (S) 725 Cloudy Lt.
