We placed a two inch eyepiece on the na2 port and enjoyed a variety of targets including Jupiter, Saturn, Ring Nebula, a globular and the moon amongst others. Around 2200 we switched to nicfps. Around 0045 the observer requested a switch to the echelle. The second half observer agreed to allow the first half user to use some of his time to get data on a transient object. Second half went fairly smoothly until the echelle guider crashed at 0435. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC07 E T/H 04:35 04:41 Ecam crashed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:49 eyepiece -650(1153) 239 60 18.5/19.8 267 14 - Poor 22:34 nicfps 200(2232) 252 46 18.0/18.1 235 9 H 0.79 00:46 Echelle 25(752) 64 69 18.0/17.2 283 15 ND2 0.93 04:44 Echelle 62(783) -5 63 16.7/16.9 339 13 clear 1.34 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 77 19 22 237 (WSW) 611 clear high thin cirrus 17:01 76 20 21 251 (WSW) 690 clear high thin cirrus 18:01 73 17 13 244 (WSW) 657 clear high thin cirrus 19:01 71 16 20 260 (W) 710 clear high thin cirrus 20:01 67 14 11 270 (W) 981 clear high thin cirrus 21:01 65 13 11 249 (WSW) 771 clear high thin cirrus 22:01 65 12 8 259 (W) 630 clear high thin cirrus 23:01 62 12 5 264 (W) 536 clear high thin cirrus 00:01 64 12 6 295 (WNW) 485 clear high thin cirrus 01:01 62 12 9 272 (W) 517 clear high thin cirrus 02:01 63 11 12 293 (WNW) 443 clear high thin cirrus 03:01 64 10 10 318 (NW) 471 clear high thin cirrus 04:01 63 9 12 328 (NNW) 1331 clear high thin cirrus 05:01 62 8 8 350 (N) 949 clear high thin cirrus Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
