Wind was fairly strong from the east, and seeing was according bad. Since there were very few targets available for the second half program in poor seeing conditions, I allowed the engineering to continue a little over time. Second half, seeing improved a little and I obtained some data that might or might not be usable for the lens monitoring program. When no targets were available, I did some supplemental engineering, including a collimation check (no change needed), a guider inst block check (no change needed), and a pointing model. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:49 Echelle -150(595) 162 71 15.9/17.8 87 16 ND2 1.75 22:09 SPIcam -50(1573) 265 60 14.6/15.7 110 19 R 1.61 00:28 fastcam -150(2419) 111 44 14.1/14.1 120 23 - baaad 00:29 NA2gdr -7000(53000)111 44 14.1/14.1 120 23 R 1.9 01:59 SPIcam 75(1680) -45 51 14.9/14.5 116 12 r 1.6 02:02 NA2gdr -850(28149) -45 51 14.9/14.6 113 19 R 1.37 02:43 S-H -25(2100) -59 61 14.6/14.5 126 21 - okay ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 76 31 16 236 (SW) 839 ptly cldy none 17:01 74 29 12 265 (W) 816 ptly cldy none 18:01 67 40 7 117 (ESE) 904 ptly cldy none 19:01 64 45 12 84 (E) 1179 ptly cldy none 20:01 62 46 19 72 (ENE) 1373 ptly cldy none 21:01 61 45 19 79 (ENE) 1397 ptly cldy none 22:01 58 45 15 99 (E) 1345 mstly clr none 23:01 57 44 22 80 (E) 1212 mstly clr none 00:01 57 36 21 110 (ESE) 757 clear none 01:01 58 33 27 122 (ESE) 578 clear none 02:01 59 31 32 127 (SE) 642 clear none 03:01 59 32 21 123 (ESE) 596 mstly clr none 04:01 59 30 21 131 (SE) 530 ptly cldy none 05:01 58 30 22 160 (SSE) 695 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
