Except for some clouds between midnight and 1am it was very photometric all night. Everything went smoothly tonight once I learned how to work around the memory leak in the version of TUI I was using (a beta prerelease of version 1.0). Thanks Craig for showing me how to monitor and recover from this leak associated with the new guider widget. Thanks to Russell for recovering the sounds and guider status in this prerelease in time for tonights observations. Seeing for second half averaged below 3/4 of an arcsecond. I was able to observe all of the available targets to APO specified by the Lens Monitoring Project tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:36 naic -150(1493) 168 45 13.0/14.9 260 14 8900 0.77 21:45 NA2gdr -8000(27000) 200 50 12.6/12.9 268 14 R 0.80 22:26 naic 0(1551) 206 42 12.3/12.5 254 12 9380 0.62 01:04 SPIcam 50(1495) 322 61 11.8/11.5 269 9 r 0.56 01:10 NA2gdr -2989(28110) 320 60 11.5/11.5 266 8 R+nd2 0.62 02:11 SPIcam 90(1503) 305 69 11.1/11.3 290 10 r 0.59 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 61 17 21 268 (W) 1004 clear none 17:01 64 18 25 262 (W) 877 clear none 18:01 63 21 22 263 (W) 1073 clear none 19:01 60 22 23 242 (WSW) 994 clear none 20:01 57 20 19 267 (W) 838 clear none 21:01 54 19 14 258 (WSW) 863 clear none 22:01 54 21 15 248 (WSW) 751 clear none 23:01 54 24 14 268 (W) 750 clear none 00:01 54 25 11 270 (W) 712 prtly cldy none 01:01 53 25 8 267 (W) 707 clear none 02:01 53 26 12 280 (W) 741 clear none 03:01 51 27 6 333 (NNW) 606 clear none 04:01 52 26 6 352 (N) 563 clear none 05:01 51 24 3 9 (N) 409 clear none 06:01 52 23 2 324 (NW) 372 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
