We started with SPIcam with the following data taken Image directory on Tycho for SPIcam data /export/images/Q2UC01/UT050510/SPIcam/GRB050509/ 19:02MDT bias.9001.fits thru bias.9010.fits 19:54MDT iflat.9011.fits - 1 sec test flat, saturated 19:56MDT iflat.9012.fits - 1 sec test flat, saturated 19:59MDT iflat.9013.fits - 1 sec test flat, saturated 20:03MDT iflat.9014.fits - 1 sec test flat, saturated 20:06MDT iflat.9015.fits - 1 sec test flat, saturated 20:11MDT iflat.9016.fits - 1 sec test flat, 21K counts 20:12MDT iflat.9017.fits thru iflat.9021.fits - iflats 20:19MDT focus.9022.fits - focus sweep 20:23MDT focus.9023.fits - focus sweep 20:34MDT grb050509b.9024.fits - 1st 300sec exposure 20:41MDT grb050509b.9025.fits - 2nd 300sec exposure 20:47MDT grb050509b.9026.fits - 3rd 300sec exposure 20:53MDT grb050509b.9027.fits - 4th 300sec exposure 21:00MDT Switched over to NICFPS, Fred and Nathaniel ran NICFPS from CU 21:25MDT dark.9028.fits thru dark.9032.fits - 5x300 sec darks. (Don't know if we needed them, but better to have them then not take them.) Since time was of the essence I manually focused the guider (actually focus was fine where we had it for SPIcam, with 0.8 arc sec seeing). NICFPS seeing was around 0.6 arc sec in Ks. I switched over to DIS at 00:50 and we were focused with sub arc sec seeing by 01:10. No problems tongiht. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:19 SPIcam 100(1595) 51 71 10.9/13.5 191 13 i' 0.64 20:33 NA2gdr 1000(30000) 89 65 10.5/13.1 204 16 clear 1.1 21:08 NICFPS 50(1756) 68 75 10.5/12.1 201 12 Ks 0.6 22:11 NICFPS 125(1769) -75 80 10.7/11.2 209 14 J 0.57 22:17 NA2gdr 2610(39610) -77 79 10.8/11.2 207 13 clear 0.6 01:05 DISslit 0(1231) 48 72 10.4/10.7 225 9 none 0.76 01:09 NA2gdr -1414(21585) 45 73 10.3/10.7 219 11 R 0.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 57 19 5 261 (W) 825 Clear none 17:01 60 18 8 236 (SW) 852 Clear none 18:01 59 17 9 270 (W) 907 Clear none 19:01 58 18 13 215 (SW) 993 Clear none 20:01 52 16 14 207 (SSW) 1214 Clear none 21:01 51 12 13 201 (SSW) 1646 Clear none 22:01 51 10 13 214 (SW) 1746 Clear none 23:01 52 9 7 204 (SSW) 1724 Clear none 00:01 52 11 7 196 (SSW) 1654 Clear none 01:01 52 11 11 228 (SW) 1686 Clear none 02:01 51 11 12 223 (SW) 1763 Clear none 03:01 48 12 14 223 (SW) 1932 Clear none 04:01 49 14 11 240 (WSW) 1800 Clear none 05:01 49 15 11 262 (W) 1817 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
