The guider remainder unusable again tonight due to an unknown problem with the guider mechanism. It is clear that the stage is moving since the size of out of focus donuts does change however the mechanism reaches a limit before stars can be brought in focus. The stage also doesnt appear to home properly. The observer had to guide off the slitviewer all night. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW08 D T/H --:-- --:-- GMECH problem ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:34 dis-slit -125(1304) 182 77 13.5/15.4 277 16 - 1.37 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 64 31 18 248 (WSW) 582 cloudy none 17:01 62 31 16 245 (WSW) 926 cloudy none 18:01 63 31 18 261 (W) 831 cloudy none 19:01 59 31 23 265 (W) 940 cloudy none 20:01 57 31 18 263 (W) 1094 cloudy none 21:01 57 31 17 278 (W) 1054 prtly cldy none 22:01 56 31 21 281 (W) 1210 clear none 23:01 55 30 20 268 (W) 1139 mstly cldy none 00:01 54 32 11 282 (WNW) 1077 mstly cldy none 01:01 52 31 14 271 (W) 1005 mstly cldy none 02:01 52 31 18 271 (W) 1031 mstly cldy none 03:01 51 30 18 302 (WNW) 1029 mstly cldy none 04:01 50 30 16 329 (NNW) 1063 mstly cldy none 05:01 50 29 18 312 (NW) 979 mstly cldy none 06:01 49 28 9 317 (NW) 968 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
