Much of it had dissipated by the time it reached APO, but we did get a little rain. After that, it took a few more hours for the humidity to drop and the clouds to thin out, then we opened just before 01:00. Seeing was poor at first, but decent once we started to catch up with the telescope's cooling curve. We got some good data despite the occasional passing wave of clouds. During the cloudy time, I continued pursuing the question of scatter in the April 22nd pointing model. Backlash in the altitude drive looks like a plausible suspect. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:27 gfp -450(839) 157 30 3.6/4.8 360 5 6563 1.38 04:39 gfp 0(1225) 207 28 3.9/3.1 284 9 R 1.56 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 55 30 11 226 (SW) 663 ptly cldy none 17:01 52 27 12 237 (WSW) 711 ptly cldy none 18:01 45 28 9 243 (WSW) 717 mstly cldy none 19:01 40 32 14 293 (WNW) 3718 cloudy rain,dust 20:01 40 28 3 273 (W) 880 cloudy lt. rain 21:01 37 32 16 61 (ENE) 1170 cloudy none 22:01 39 31 5 12 (NNE) 576 cloudy none 23:01 37 32 10 60 (ENE) 654 mstly cldy none 00:01 38 32 6 359 (N) 552 ptly cldy none 01:01 39 30 1 352 (N) 530 ptly cldy none 02:01 37 29 2 356 (N) 568 ptly cldy none 03:01 38 29 12 351 (N) 537 ptly cldy none 04:01 39 29 15 308 (NW) 767 mstly clr none 05:01 39 28 10 296 (WNW) 695 clear none 06:01 39 29 9 271 (W) 657 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
