Finally around 20:45 I decided we could open, but if any signs of clouds appeared we would close. At about 21:50 the Echelle hung sending image to MC. ICC rebooted. Data salvaged. I closed the mirror covers at 22:50 due to a passing cloud that I wasn't sure about. Better safe than sorry. I kept the building open but the mirror covers closed. I re-opened at 23:00 after the threatening cloud passed. 23:50 the MC died, restarted MC and all was happy again. Clouds also rolled in about the same time and I closed a couple minutes later. Finally re-opened at 02:45, with caution. I could see a cloud to the S with virga coming off from it but it appeared safe to open for the time being. The clouds dissapated in about 30-45 mins and just left us some cirrus. No problems other than the MC crashing tonight (and a couple echelle hangs) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU01 E I/S 21:50 22:03 Echelle ICC hung during readout ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:58 Echelle -72(871) 92 64 18.9/22.1 134 16 ND1 1.0 23:08 Echelle -24(833) -39 48 18.0/19.0 95 9 ND2 1.4 02:57 NICFPS 125(2072) 72 60 17.3/17.4 167 8 2.12 0.7 03:02 NA2gdr 1576(38576) 71 61 17.7/17.4 180 8 R 0.8 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 81 27 9 265 (W) 711 Mst.
