There was some confusion early in the night as to which slit was being used since but it turned out to be a contrast problem with such a bright star that the occulting bar could not be seen in the images. No other problems. 2nd half Observing Specialist: J.Dembicky No problems during the 2nd half of the night with the echelle. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:55 dis-slit 25(1647) 167 77 17.8/19.9 149 19 - 0.96 21:04 NA2gdr -3500(21600) 177 77 17.6/19.3 137 24 R+nd2 0.94 7:15 Echelle 50(675) -128 75 15.2/15.2 139 15 ND2 1.35 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 77 30 12 223 (SW) 600 clear none 17:01 75 29 6 244 (WSW) 586 clear none 18:01 77 30 4 192 (SSW) 627 clear none 19:01 70 28 10 240 (WSW) 717 clear none 20:01 66 28 12 153 (SSE) 651 clear none 21:01 64 32 21 134 (SE) 918 clear none 22:01 61 32 18 122 (ESE) 957 clear none 23:01 60 32 21 124 (SE) 846 mstly clr none 00:01 60 32 22 131 (SE) 648 mstly clr none 01:01 59 32 18 127 (SE) 668 clear none 02:01 60 31 7 170 (S) 713 clear none 03:01 62 32 9 209 (SSW) 882 clear none 04:01 62 31 8 189 (S) 778 clear none 05:01 61 30 5 186 (S) 723 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
