Seeing was horrible, to put it lightly. >3 arc sec. Not really suprising since a cold front came thru and the air was blowing around here quite a bit. RM -- Seeing and humidity gradually improved as the wind dropped, eventually settling around 1.5 arcseconds by 04:00. The observer was having trouble identifying fields, partly because of the humidity but also because he couldn't display the slitviewer images properly on his laptop. I ended up running the slitviewer locally. By the time the seeing improved, we had all the problems worked out, and everything went smoothly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:36 DISslit -225(521) 155 58 -2.8/-1.6 48 23 none >3 Focus was set +50 steps higher than best DISslit image until DISslit can be re-focused. ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 20 6 293 (WNW) 348 Clear none 17:01 40 15 8 291 (WNW) 295 Clear none 18:01 39 15 13 355 (N) 295 Clear none 19:01 39 15 15 359 (N) 322 Cloudy none 20:01 39 16 17 38 (NE) 325 Cloudy none 21:01 30 26 31 56 (NE) 907 Pt.
