I tweaked the pointing since my observer was going to be offsetting to targets that might not be visible (or near bright objects that would flood the chip with a long exposrue). Seein was excellent at the start of the night (0.8 arc sec or better on the guider), but then the humidity started to rise and the seeing became very variable (1-2.5+ arc sec). I monitored focus with the guider all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:33 DISslit 100(1073) 71 61 0.7/4.3 285 7 none 1.0 18:39 NA2gdr -1456(29543) 69 62 0.8/4.1 308 8 R 1.0 Focus was set +50 steps higher than best DISslit image until DISslit can be re-focused. ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 27 2 257 (WSW) 271 Clear none 17:01 38 28 6 270 (W) 243 Clear none 18:01 36 28 5 268 (W) 211 Clear none 19:01 34 25 10 319 (NW) 247 Clear none 20:01 34 28 9 330 (NNW) 199 Clear none 21:01 33 27 11 313 (NW) 206 Clear none 22:01 33 28 6 286 (WNW) 253 Clear none 23:01 33 27 7 319 (NW) 284 Clear none 00:01 32 27 8 306 (NW) 414 Clear none 01:01 32 25 8 324 (NW) 346 Clear none 02:01 33 25 11 320 (NW) 314 Clear none 03:01 33 25 7 353 (N) 284 Clear none 04:01 33 24 8 345 (NNW) 290 Clear none 05:01 34 24 6 353 (N) 267 Clear none 06:01 32 24 0 13 (NNE) 238 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
