By 23:15 the dust dropped below closure limits and I opened. I quickly discovered that although I was able to take images with the ecam I was getting LTA10 errors and an additional error I did not recognize. I quickly called Craig Loomis to help me out. He had done software testing earlier in the day and when he was returning the system to normal he thinks he accidently restarted the test hub instead of the production hub and that caused the troubles I was having. Seeing for the last half an hour of the evening was around 2 arcsec. 2nd half Observing Specialist: J.Dembicky Wind picked up right as we were getting set up for the 2nd half. Gusts to nearly 40MPH shut us down quickly. The observer took cal lamps while we waited for the wind to die down a bit. Winds calmed back down around 02:30 and we once again opened. No problems for 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM07 E T/S 23:20 23:30 Hub test software still loaded. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:34 Echelle -221(-275) 187 75 -1.5/-0.5 266 17 nd2 1.91 02:44 DISslit -50(637) 69 63 -2.7/-2.5 291 17 none 2.1 02:52 NA2gdr -1725(29274) 66 64 -2.7/-2.5 290 26 R 1.8 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 14 33 255 (WSW) 3934 mstly clr wind,dust 17:01 39 13 30 256 (WSW) 3244 clear wind,dust 18:01 35 12 30 248 (WSW) 5767 clear wind,dust 19:01 32 13 26 260 (W) 4917 clear wind,dust 20:01 31 12 22 253 (WSW) 2608 clear wind,dust 21:01 30 11 14 265 (W) 5318 clear wind,dust 22:01 29 13 23 265 (W) 2086 mstly cldy none 23:01 30 11 21 267 (W) 1601 prtly cldy none 00:01 29 11 25 274 (W) 1050 clear wind 01:01 29 8 25 287 (WNW) 802 clear wind 02:01 29 9 21 288 (WNW) 816 clear wind 03:01 27 8 18 293 (WNW) 808 clear none 04:01 27 8 19 300 (WNW) 908 clear none 05:01 26 8 12 282 (WNW) 869 clear none 06:01 26 11 14 277 (W) 884 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
