Unfortunately the weather never improved. Heavy orographic cloud cover until 21:30 followed immediately by humidity over the limits prevented us from opening. Second half the humidity and cloud cover continued to take turns. As soon as dewpoint was safe I would start ventilating, then the clouds would swoop in for about an hour until the humidity would rise again and I would need to shutdown the fans as the skies cleared. This cycle repeated itself several times during second half. Very frustrating indeed. During my checkout this afternoon I needed to power cycle Nic-Fps and restart the ICS. I had found that I was unable to take images through TUI and that the error seemed to indicate that the ICS was not accepting exposure times from TUI. The power cycle seemed to correct the problem however when I went to verify that the filter wheel was indeed in the proper place (Mask) I was confused when "nicfps filters getsteps=1" returned a large negative value. I was able to command ther filter wheel to the proper place and correct the problem in short order but immediately afterwards TUI is confused as to the wheels position until you command it to another position such as "Open" and then back to "Mask". ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC03 N I/S --:-- --:-- ICS locked up, Power Cycled UC03 N I/S --:-- --:-- Filter Wheel Location Problem ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 33 24 13 265 (W) 735 cloudy none 17:01 34 23 13 264 (W) 702 cloudy none 18:01 33 23 12 266 (W) 725 cloudy none 19:01 33 23 13 253 (WSW) 750 cloudy none 20:01 33 24 18 255 (WSW) 758 cloudy none 21:01 32 27 9 260 (W) 354 cloudy humid 22:01 31 27 10 264 (W) 334 cloudy humid 23:01 31 27 16 286 (WNW) 261 cloudy humid 00:01 30 27 16 278 (W) 203 cloudy humid 01:01 30 26 12 260 (W) 177 cloudy humid 02:01 31 26 19 268 (W) 189 cloudy humid 03:01 31 24 21 293 (WNW) 225 cloudy humid 04:01 31 27 14 269 (W) 341 cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
