Apollo was able to get laser returns off the Apollo 15 reflector just 4 minutes after sunset tonight. Apollo 11 was also quickly measured. Still no luck on Apollo 14 or the Russian Rover(s). However, tonight was still considered another successful night. I measured 3 gravitational lenses for the second program under moderate conditions. Second half went by smoothly despite one occurance of the echelle slitviewer crashing and 2 other occurances where the guider window locked up and I forced a restart of the ecam software. No time was lost. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU05 E I/H --:-- --:-- slitviewer crashed and was rebooted ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:30 SPIcam 50(752) -39 81 2.0/2.0 294 13 r 1.01 22:59 SPIcam 60(732) -8 69 1.4/0.9 312 8 z 0.89 23:56 Echelle 68(-212) 23 77 2.5/1.3 342 13 nd2 1.19 01:46 Echelle 36(-51) -12 32 2.9/2.2 355 8 nd1 1.83 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 -4 11 276 (W) 172 mstly clr cirrus 17:01 37 -1 11 298 (WNW) 100 clear none 18:01 35 1 9 288 (WNW) 194 clear none 19:01 36 0 13 330 (NNW) 306 clear none 20:01 35 0 14 331 (NNW) 657 clear none 21:01 35 1 19 318 (NW) 853 clear none 22:01 35 0 18 323 (NW) 850 clear none 23:01 35 -3 10 283 (WNW) 538 clear none 00:01 37 0 14 323 (NW) 381 clear none 01:01 37 -2 18 357 (N) 278 clear none 02:01 37 -4 8 331 (NNW) 426 clear none 03:01 37 5 11 345 (NNW) 171 clear none 04:01 38 -4 14 4 (N) 403 clear none 05:01 37 -5 15 334 (NNW) 381 clear none 06:01 35 -5 8 288 (WNW) 397 clear none 07:01 36 -2 13 351 (N) 374 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
