Carol noted the telescope drifting and I rebooted (power cycled) the guider on the intermediate level and all was well again. The object was a high altitude but had not transited yet. Guider failed again at 22:11, we noticed this after a 15 minute science esposure showed the star had drifted. The guider window looked normal (no sign of failure) and it appeared the camera was exposing, just the current image number wasn't changing (not obvious but now know what to watch out for). We had a brown-out around 23:05. Everything appeared to go thru it fine until about 3 mins later when we discovered the enclosure motors stopped (and the telescope collided with the emergency building collision switches and killed the drives). I reset the big building controller and physically moved the telescope off the switch and brought the telescope back online. 12 mins lost. No problems 2nd half, NA2 guider was not used. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:42 GFP 0(1010) -39 44 6.5/6.9 303 8 R 1.6 18:46 NA2gdr -2180(32919) 93 45 6.6/6.9 211 3 R 1.6 23:58 DISslit 150(948) -65 48 6.7/5.9 34 13 none 1.1 00:04 NA2gdr -4355(24644) -67 47 6.2/5.8 7 18 R 0.7 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 47 21 12 4 (N) 33 Clear none 17:01 44 22 4 2 (N) 45 Clear none 18:01 43 21 18 352 (N) 57 Clear none 19:01 43 21 19 349 (NNW) 72 Clear none 20:01 44 21 10 7 (N) 107 Clear none 21:01 41 21 11 10 (N) 124 Clear none 22:01 43 21 2 347 (NNW) 117 Clear none 23:01 44 21 8 348 (NNW) 90 Clear none 00:01 44 20 19 6 (N) 53 Clear none 01:01 44 21 10 358 (N) 47 Clear none 02:01 44 21 14 352 (N) 26 Clear none 03:01 43 21 5 358 (N) 41 Clear none 04:01 42 21 13 320 (NW) 55 Clear none 05:01 40 20 13 305 (NW) 103 Clear none 06:01 41 21 17 305 (NW) 119 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
