Everything worked smoothly first half, permitting time for a nice Christmas dinner while the observing scripts ran. Second half, there was a hard crash of the guider requiring a power-cycle, which interestingly occurred right after the observer tracked the telescope up to maximum altitude -- it seemed as if the stopped axis and an ungraceful exit from the guiding loop somehow caused the guider hardware to need a power cycle. I remember something similar happening a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure if the trigger was exactly the same. Aside from that incident, second half was also very quiet. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 SPIcam 25(940) 63 68 5.8/6.5 292 11 r' 0.71 00:09 DIS(blue) 150(822) 91 58 4.2/3.9 264 10 - 1.28 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 43 11 5 293 (WNW) 399 clear none 17:01 42 10 12 299 (WNW) 122 clear none 18:01 43 7 6 271 (W) 112 clear none 19:01 43 3 14 287 (WNW) 132 clear none 20:01 42 3 9 273 (W) 125 mstly clr none 21:01 40 7 10 285 (WNW) 319 mstly clr none 22:01 40 10 14 286 (WNW) 436 mstly clr none 23:01 41 11 21 277 (W) 388 mstly clr none 00:01 39 14 15 274 (W) 325 mstly clr none 01:01 39 18 15 285 (WNW) 418 mstly clr none 02:01 39 19 16 279 (W) 559 mstly clr none 03:01 39 20 22 292 (WNW) 559 mstly clr none 04:01 39 19 18 270 (W) 616 mstly clr none 05:01 39 19 17 295 (WNW) 686 mstly clr none 06:01 38 20 17 304 (NW) 613 mstly clr none 07:01 38 21 12 288 (WNW) 626 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
