I was able to contact Stephane B. for help. We were able to get the instrument back up and taking data prior to the end of twilight. Therefore no downtime is being accounted. Seeing was quite good at the beginning of the night however withing a few hours it had degraded to 2 arcseconds. The cloud cover plus the moon made observing difficult and the first half user gave up at around 22:30. At the beginning of the second half I could make out bright stars so I focused the echelle and had it ready for George when he logged in. Unfortunately, he also found the transparency to low to get useful data and he gave up for the night at 02:00. I spent a few hours watching the weather and decided to give up myself at 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DD04 N I/H --:-- --:-- ICC and Leach controller rebooted ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:59 nicfps 150(1193) 297 54 2.2/2.8 356 6 Ks 0.76 18:00 NA2gdr -1077(44022) 297 54 2.2/2.8 356 6 R+nd2 0.71 18:41 nicfps 100(1156) 298 45 2.2/2.4 157 0 Ks 0.82 23:56 Echelle 14(-235) 138 73 2.6/1.8 336 2 nd2 1.22 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 8 6 11 (N) 554 prtly cldy none 17:01 36 8 7 20 (NNE) 729 prtly cldy none 18:01 36 8 2 10 (N) 296 prtly cldy none 19:01 35 8 4 358 (N) 284 prtly cldy none 20:01 37 0 1 1 (N) 192 prtly cldy none 21:01 37 1 8 359 (N) 188 mstly cldy cirrus 22:01 37 2 9 318 (NW) 184 mstly cldy cirrus 23:01 37 2 7 350 (N) 217 mstly cldy cirrus 00:01 37 2 4 343 (NNW) 260 mstly cldy cirrus 01:01 38 3 11 312 (NW) 425 cloudy cirrus 02:01 38 3 11 313 (NW) 414 cloudy cirrus 03:01 38 -4 13 308 (NW) 372 cloudy cirrus 04:01 37 -1 10 286 (WNW) 492 cloudy cirrus 05:01 39 -6 11 301 (WNW) 324 cloudy cirrus Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
