Dembicky We had high winds and dust that delayed our opening this evening. Once we opened things appeared to be going well with CorMass until Russet encountered a problem with the flip mirror started to flake out and not move (stuck in slitviewer mode, or would return to it after commanded to spectrograph mode). Russet and the U.Va folks worked on it for about 1.5 hrs with no success in fixing the problem. We offered a different instrument to UW01 but he had no backups ready but Marcel Agueros (UW12) was there, observing with Kevin, and he had a use of the time with DIS for his program. No problems 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW01 V I/H 20:00 --:-- CorMass flip mirror fault ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:32 CorMass -75 38 48 7.1/8.2 269 21 K 0.8 22:28 DISslit -25(677) 55 70 5.0/5.2 268 16 none 1.5 22:33 NA2gdr -7139(21860) 52 71 5.0/5.2 275 16 R 1.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 53 22 37 243 (WSW) 7890 Mst.
