Got on the sky at sunset. There were a couple minor NIC-FPS ICS problems (or confusions from an error that came thru) around 18:10 when I went to focus. Nothing serious and I had the telescope focused around 18:25 with 0.7 arc sec seeing in J. A couple other minor computer glitches (like filling up the disk on /export/images with all the Data the NIC-FPS can produce!). Nothing big and only very minor science time lost, nothing notable. NIC-FPS was fairly well behaved tonight with lots of data taken. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Second half had varying high clouds. We remained open the whole morning, but some of the time it wasn't even worth opening the instrument shutter. Everything worked smoothly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:22 NIC-FPS 300(1405)* 56 50 2.9/3.3 14 18 J 0.70 00:17 DISslit 100(1033) -18 69 4.3/3.6 47 11 - 1.85 * Instrument zero-point was changed after this measurement. ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 38 22 8 334 (NNW) Clear none 17:01 39 19 7 353 (N) Clear none 18:01 37 20 23 18 (NNE) Clear none 19:01 37 21 11 13 (NNE) Clear none 20:01 37 21 8 47 (NE) Clear none 21:01 36 22 5 11 (N) Clear none 22:01 40 19 21 12 (NNE) Clear none 23:01 39 20 11 13 (NNE) Lt.
