It didnt solve the problem but they cleaned up the problem alot so that the instrument was at least useable. Around 2100 the filter wheel condition in TUI became Unknown. The observers assured us that it was a microswitch problem with Filter Wheel 2 and didnt happen observations. Suprisingly, for a forecast of rain/snow it has been mostly clear here at the site until 2230. Seeing was moderate. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Dembicky Clouds to start the 2nd half that gradually grew worse and closed us a little after 1AM. The clouds cleared out around 4AM and we got back on the sky shortly after. We found the NIC-FPS ICC had rebooted itself sometime while we were closed. Something had not loaded properly when it "self-rebooted" and we needed to reboot it again to get things working. There were also some problems with the filter wheels not reporting positioning correctly (same problem as per first half). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFNVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EN02 N I/H --:-- --:-- Filter Wheel 2 problems EN02 N I/H 04:20 04:35 NICFPS ICC computer rebooted itself and then wouldn't execute NICFPS program (crash) ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 31 23 13 80 (E) 17:01 29 23 13 89 (E) 18:01 28 22 14 78 (ENE) 19:01 28 22 12 104 (ESE) 20:01 26 22 11 86 (E) 21:01 26 20 7 92 (E) 22:01 26 18 10 108 (ESE) 23:01 26 18 6 91 (E) Cloudy none 00:01 27 18 2 111 (ESE) Mst.
