Seeing wasn't so hot early on in the night, with a strong northeast wind, but by later in second half is calmed down considerably. We had a small problem during the first half with the Echelle guider software locking up, requiring the host computer to be restarted. In second half, Joe noticed what appears to be a bug in TUI: pressing "Abort" twice during an exposure, which resulted in the exposure being properly aborted, also had the effect of advancing the exposure counter by two. In other words, it's as if it "aborted" a second exposure that was never initiated. Didn't cause any problems other than to mess up the numbering sequence on Joe's images. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW17 E I/H 18:15 18:20 Echelle slitview camera software died ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 Echelle 0(160) -99 76 2.3/4.5 31 15 clear 0.75 23:58 DISslit 0(877) 146 77 3.0/2.5 355 6 - 1.04 00:01 NA2gdr 0(31000) 149 78 2.9/2.6 353 8 R 0.81 02:04 NA2gdr -2992(28007)6 68 2.8/2.3 77 6 R 0.92 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 3 1 29 (NNE) Clear none 17:01 39 5 0 13 (NNE) Clear none 18:01 36 5 11 28 (NNE) Clear none 19:01 37 0 19 27 (NNE) Clear none 20:01 38 2 18 19 (NNE) Clear none 21:01 38 6 8 18 (NNE) Clear none 22:01 38 6 6 16 (NNE) Clear none 23:01 37 5 2 30 (NNE) Clear none 00:01 37 5 12 11 (N) Clear none 01:01 37 8 6 20 (NNE) Clear none 02:01 36 7 5 80 (E) Clear none 03:01 38 8 0 150 (SSE) Clear none 04:01 39 9 0 183 (S) Clear none 05:01 37 8 1 186 (S) Clear none 06:01 36 8 1 185 (S) Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
