Opened at 20:30 after Nicole finished her DIS cals with the dome dark. Shortly after sunset, in fine (and reliable) fashion, the wind slowed to a crawl and then reversed direction from west to east. For most of the the night it was only a few MPH coming from the N to NE. Consequently, seeing was poor throughout, with a few calm periods but otherwise highly variable. Stayed open late so Kevin could get twilight sky flats with DIS. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:42 DISslit -200(1271) 336 58 11.2/15.4 46 5 - 1.41 20:52 NA2gdr -947(30052) 334 57 10.8/15.1 51 10 R 2.57 23:49 NA2gdr -5151(25848)319 38 10.6/10.6 23 3 R 1.09 01:45 DISslit -25(1241) 157 55 10.9/10.5 45 5 - 1.48 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 63 37 11 270 (W) 692 MstlyClr none 17:01 63 37 12 245 (WSW) 749 MstlyClr none 18:01 62 37 11 216 (SW) 689 MstlyClr none 19:01 57 37 7 236 (SW) 624 MstlyClr none 20:01 53 34 1 277 (W) 667 MstlyClr none 21:01 51 35 11 63 (ENE) 620 MstlyClr none 22:01 50 34 8 81 (E) 651 MstlyClr none 23:01 51 35 6 53 (NE) 736 MstlyClr none 00:01 52 35 4 26 (NNE) 624 MstlyClr none 01:01 52 35 9 22 (NNE) 659 MstlyClr none 02:01 51 35 10 359 (N) 645 MstlyClr none 03:01 51 35 4 353 (N) 659 MstlyClr none 04:01 50 35 2 14 (NNE) 630 MstlyClr none 05:01 50 34 13 35 (NE) 641 MstlyClr none 06:01 50 34 13 80 (E) 655 MstlyClr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
