Shortly after twilight ended the wind shift directions to the Southeast causing the seeing to degrade with excursions above 2 arcseconds. After 0200 the wind shifted direction from the South-southwest and seeing improved to 0.6 arcsec. Scattered clouds moved in at 0400. The first half observer had some difficulty setting the contrast on the slitviewer which was echoed by the second observer however this was quickly corrected in both cases. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW01 D I/S 20:25 20:50 DIS-slitviewer unresponsive in scale PU01 D I/S --:-- --:-- DIS-slitviewer unresponsive in scale ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:04 dis-slit -200(1411) 172 77 15.9/19.6 168 2 - 1.15 20:04 NA2gdr -843(30156) 173 77 15.9/19.6 168 2 R 0.8 01:06 dis-slit -80(1249) 267 68 11.9/12.9 126 14 - 2.22 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 36 2 290 (WNW) 666 prtly cldy none 17:01 71 37 6 217 (SW) 676 clear none 18:01 70 36 9 220 (SW) 703 clear none 19:01 65 36 7 204 (SSW) 594 clear none 20:01 61 35 8 177 (S) 641 clear none 21:01 60 38 17 137 (SE) 646 clear none 22:01 57 38 18 135 (SE) 514 clear none 23:01 56 38 15 145 (SE) 491 clear none 00:01 55 39 17 143 (SE) 527 clear none 01:01 54 45 17 142 (SE) 633 clear none 02:01 57 37 7 180 (S) 546 clear none 03:01 57 36 11 180 (S) 520 clear none 04:01 57 37 9 186 (S) 508 clear none 05:01 56 40 12 182 (S) 526 clear none 06:01 55 41 13 188 (S) 514 prtly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
