First half was quiet with average seeing and passing waves of thin cirrus. After the shift change, the wind made its way quickly around to the west and we had some of the best seeing I've ever witnessed. DIMM reported as low as 0.36 arcsec (!!!) and the NA2 guider bottomed out near 0.60 arcsec as it became undersampled. Clouds came in thicker during the latter part of the half but did not cause us to close. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:15 DISslit -100(1488) 132 45 13.6/17.0 147 8 - 1.07 20:18 NA2gdr -1346(29653)133 45 13.7/16.8 148 9 R 0.84 22:45 NA2gdr -3188(27811)187 57 12.4/13.1 107 8 R 1.09 00:12 DISslit 50(1446) 222 49 14.4/13.0 177 2 - 1.28 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 66 27 6 214 (SW) 458 MstlyClr none 17:01 67 28 5 254 (WSW) 509 MstlyClr none 18:01 65 27 9 248 (WSW) 487 MstlyClr none 19:01 59 25 4 262 (W) 389 MstlyClr none 20:01 56 21 8 160 (SSE) 394 MstlyClr none 21:01 56 21 7 137 (SE) 552 MstlyClr none 22:01 55 22 12 137 (SE) 442 MstlyClr none 23:01 55 25 7 121 (ESE) 572 MstlyClr none 00:01 57 24 4 127 (SE) 396 MstlyClr none 01:01 59 23 1 224 (SW) 438 MstlyClr none 02:01 56 24 1 294 (WNW) 437 MstlyClr none 03:01 55 27 2 254 (WSW) 430 MstlyClr none 04:01 55 27 2 257 (WSW) 423 MstlyClr none 05:01 53 26 7 352 (N) 374 MstlyClr none 06:01 55 19 5 1 (N) 314 MstlyClr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
