Seeing varied from subarcsecond to about 1.5 arcseconds on very short timescales, making this a bad night for focus tests but otherwise quite usable. Second half had more stable seeing and light winds until about 05:30, when the humidity started to rise and the seeing degraded. Tasks completed: DIS instrument block, confirmation of slitview offset recommendations for Remark and TUI, DIS throughput measurements, work adapting na2point script for new guider (not finished -- this script is broken for now!), tests and reports on several aspects of new guider behavior, two SH altitude sweeps with varying tertiary control schemes. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:01 DISslit 110(1526) 79 58 14.3/-10.4 267 6 - 1.11 02:21 S-H -130(1910) 140 81 13.5/-10.4 334 4 - 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 63 39 7 276 (W) 118331 ptly cldy none 18:01 64 40 10 267 (W) 116296 ptly cldy none 19:01 65 41 6 253 (WSW) 118537 ptly cldy none 20:01 59 37 8 274 (W) 121829 mstly clr none 21:01 58 37 5 264 (W) 120055 mstly clr none 22:01 57 36 6 267 (W) 120828 mstly clr none 23:01 57 35 8 269 (W) 122005 mstly clr none 00:01 56 35 8 267 (W) 121467 mstly clr none 01:01 57 36 5 272 (W) 120775 mstly clr none 02:01 56 36 5 286 (WNW) 125145 clear none 03:01 57 36 3 265 (W) 122233 clear none 04:01 54 37 8 306 (NW) 121908 clear none 05:01 53 37 5 208 (SSW) 123096 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
