No response to email, no answer at the phone number provided in the proposal, no answer from collaborator's home number. This was especially frustrating since the first half grating request was non-standard and also incompatible with the second half grating request; I wasn't sure what gratings to load. I couldn't reach the NM scheduler, so when twilight ended I gave the time to another NM program (NM10), whose collaborators I was able to reach. This program got started late because of the grating confusion, but went well once we got going. Skies were essentially clear all night, photometric most of the time. Seeing was good to moderate first half, puffed up over 2 arcseconds around 2 am, then dropped back to about an arcsecond for the remainder of the morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:49 DISslit -25(1493) 2 60 15.3/15.5 264 14 - 1.0 23:39 DISslit 75(1587) -17 48 14.6/14.5 281 12 - 1.35 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 70 21 18 247 (WSW) 1671 ptly cldy none 17:01 67 21 7 273 (W) 1964 ptly cldy none 18:01 66 19 15 264 (W) 1818 ptly cldy none 19:01 65 18 20 265 (W) 1812 ptly cldy none 20:01 61 14 18 265 (W) 1848 mstly clr none 21:01 59 11 11 258 (WSW) 1697 clear none 22:01 59 11 12 265 (W) 1778 clear none 23:01 59 11 5 253 (WSW) 1896 clear none 00:01 58 11 11 277 (W) 1859 clear none 01:01 57 10 10 291 (WNW) 1856 clear none 02:01 54 7 10 24 (NNE) 1891 mstly clr none 03:01 59 10 16 34 (NE) 1991 mstly clr none 04:01 57 10 21 20 (NNE) 1759 mstly clr none 05:01 58 11 16 28 (NNE) 1790 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
