I focused the telescope and seeing was around 1.3 arc sec (not bad considering we had not had the enclosure open until it was time to focus. Seeing generally was in the 1-1.5 arc sec range until Midnight when the wind direction change, temps dropped, and humidiy climbed. Seeing went bad along with it ranging in the 2-4 arc sec range. The NA2 guider ICC locked up around 02:00 and needed to be power cycled to bring it back to life. No science time was lost as the observer could hand guide as necessary. Wind direction changed a little after 03:00 and the seeing improved to 1-1.5 arc sec. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU01 NA2guider I/S --:-- --:-- NA2 guider ICC locked up.
