Seeing was good, subarcsecond for most of the night, but deteriorated to moderate/poor later in the morning. After the evening twilight flats were finished, we discovered that a high bit had gotten stuck on, causing the sky levels to appear higher than they really were. The bit remained stuck for the first few science images, then fixed itself. After that, the instrument behaved well and so did the telescope. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC06 F I/S 20:57 21:25 stuck bit on GFP ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:35 gfp 0(1645) 243 53 14.2/14.5 217 13 B 1.15 21:40 NA2gdr -1500(49500) 245 52 14.4/14.5 219 11 R 1.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 27 8 249 (WSW) 829 mstly cldy none 17:01 65 26 9 232 (SW) 684 mstly cldy none 18:01 63 27 14 249 (WSW) 813 ptly cldy none 19:01 62 24 13 233 (SW) 931 mstly clr none 20:01 57 18 8 221 (SW) 1332 cirrus none 21:01 57 21 12 214 (SW) 1447 cirrus none 22:01 58 21 13 229 (SW) 1484 cirrus none 23:01 58 19 16 234 (SW) 1326 cirrus none 00:01 57 19 13 232 (SW) 1523 ptly cldy none 01:01 57 18 12 214 (SW) 1637 ptly cldy none 02:01 56 17 14 196 (SSW) 1503 ptly cldy none 03:01 55 16 15 202 (SSW) 1464 cirrus none 04:01 55 13 11 248 (WSW) 1345 cirrus none 05:01 55 9 10 268 (W) 1174 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
