It was then that I noticed that there was a failure of communications with the Guider Mechanism. I sought Craigs assistance and he was able to correct the problem by 'jiggling' a few cables on the intermediate level. Within an hour the Guider ICC froze and needed rebooting. There were several other occurances of this Mac locking up and requiring rebooting. At 00:45 dust levels went above the closure levels. We closed for 2 hours. Seeing was good to moderate all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU06 D T/H --:-- --:-- GMECH communications failure PU06 D T/H --:-- --:-- NA2 GDR ICC Locked up, rebooted PU06 D T/H --:-- --:-- NA2 GDR ICC Locked up, rebooted UC01 D T/H --:-- --:-- NA2 GDR ICC Locked up, rebooted ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:31 dis-slit 50(1387) 182 77 11.8/13.2 257 26 - 0.98 20:39 NA2gdr -3500(45600)189 74 11.6/12.9 238 25 R 0.98 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 63 16 29 234 (SW) 669 clear none 17:01 61 14 17 267 (W) 766 clear none 18:01 58 12 22 263 (W) 918 clear none 19:01 56 12 19 264 (W) 1100 clear none 20:01 53 13 20 246 (WSW) 1079 clear none 21:01 53 14 22 254 (WSW) 1316 clear none 22:01 52 12 24 244 (WSW) 1291 clear none 23:01 51 13 19 267 (W) 1984 clear dust 00:01 50 14 16 269 (W) 2900 clear dust 01:01 49 15 20 273 (W) 3036 clear dust 02:01 48 17 13 278 (W) 3145 clear dust 03:01 47 17 21 259 (W) 1766 clear none 04:01 46 17 14 270 (W) 1447 clear none 05:01 45 17 13 277 (W) 1474 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
