Russet helped the first half observer (remotely from her house). When Guy finished I checked the rotator (and zero'ed it, 0.007). I then change the DIS gratings to Low/Low (Guy had requested lb/mr earlier in the evening). I then procedeed to calibrate te gratings and the Red grating spectra seemed tilted slightly (blue looked fine). I went up to re-seated the gratings in the turret and noticed some nasty looking clouds forming to our N/NE. As a precaution I closed the enclosure just in case , and I really didn't need to have the dome open to do cals. Humidity also started to climb into the 80% range, which made me more nervous about being open under such conditions. The spectra (Red only) still seemed tilted a little (but the gratings were firmly in place, I made sure when I went up to reseat them). I used the time to get my biases, flats, and lamps. No Throughput data was taken due to the humidity. As I finished the lamp wavecals the humidity was hovering around 85%, although the skies had cleared. I decided to wait a couple of minutes to see what the humidity was going to do. John took some more bias images (while we were closed) with DIS for further analysis. Russet and I did some Shack-Hartmann images when we were finally able to re-open (around 03:05). After we finished these Russet did a pointing model which took the rest of the night (a little over an hour). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:11 SPIcam -25(1101) 158 73 2.3/4.8 270 9 Ha 1.0 20:14 NA2gdr 1346(50346) 235 42 2.5/4.7 264 6 R 1.1 03:26 S-H 15(1617) 35 58 3.0/2.3 306 11 none 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 34 14 291 (WNW) 211 Cloudy none 17:01 37 30 15 303 (WNW) 206 Mst.
