I opened the enclosure to cool around 17:30 and within an hour we were on the sky and focusing through the soup. The temperature climbed after sunset, accompanied by the wind shifting around to the east and the dewpoint dropping through the floor. The rest of the half remained cirrusy, with seeing varying throughout. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was very peaceful, with widespread cirrus and good seeing. I observed two echelle fills up in the dome and couldn't see anything wrong with them. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:31 Echelle 51(264) 330 63 6.3/5.1 261 0 ND1 0.82 23:53 Echelle 22(264) -70 61 6.4/5.7 105 7 ND2 1.09 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 44 23 9 237 (WSW) PtlyCldy none 17:01 42 22 3 269 (W) PtlyCldy none 18:01 38 21 0 241 (WSW) PtlyCldy none 19:01 38 21 6 333 (NNW) PtlyCldy none 20:01 42 8 6 64 (ENE) PtlyCldy none 21:01 43 7 4 91 (E) PtlyCldy none 22:01 44 7 6 104 (ESE) PtlyCldy none 23:01 46 3 1 195 (SSW) PtlyCldy none 00:01 43 17 6 123 (ESE) PtlyCldy none 01:01 45 5 1 185 (S) cirrus none 02:01 45 6 2 183 (S) cirrus none 03:01 44 8 2 180 (S) cirrus none 04:01 45 6 4 184 (S) cirrus none 05:01 43 9 2 172 (S) cirrus none 06:01 45 5 4 181 (S) cirrus none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
