The telescope pointed and tracked the moon wonderfully! I was very impressed with Tom Murphy's Lunar Ephemeris software and the changes that Russell had made to the TCC to make this possible. It was so impressive that the telescope pointed right on even though I had entered the wrong TDT time into Toms program. I accidently had a typo and was off by 6 hours and still the telescope pointed where it should have. Amazing! Second scheduled program fought increasing clouds until the data was no longer usuable at 2130. There wasnt anything threatening in the area so we kept the dome open and continued to ventilate. 2nd half Observing Specialist: J. Dembicky Partly cloudy all 2nd half with clouds increasing around 04:00. We closed up around 04:25 and Joe took cals/biases at that point. When I filled Grim this morning it took much more LN2 than normal. PR submitted to have day staff look at vacuum. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:11 dis-slit -50(1225) 172 78 9.9/11.8 204 15 - 1.1 20:28 dis-slit -50(1174) 57 65 7.7/10.1 229 6 - 1.46 20:30 NA2gdr 0(47000) 57 65 7.5/10.0 215 6 R 1.26 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 17 14 257 (WSW) 326 prtly cldy none 17:01 55 19 13 239 (WSW) 367 prtly cldy none 18:01 50 20 16 236 (SW) 446 prtly cldy none 19:01 49 19 13 208 (SSW) 655 prtly cldy none 20:01 48 19 6 237 (WSW) 529 mstly cldy none 21:01 47 18 8 228 (SW) 440 mstly cldy none 22:01 48 15 9 211 (SSW) 392 mstly cldy none 23:01 48 14 13 255 (WSW) 402 mstly cldy none 00:01 48 11 8 235 (SW) 395 mstly cldy none 01:01 48 15 10 244 (WSW) 508 mstly cldy none 02:01 48 15 12 242 (WSW) 0 mstly cldy none 03:01 47 14 11 262 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 04:01 47 15 9 260 (W) 0 cloudy none 05:01 46 15 10 267 (W) 0 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
