At about 2100 the echelle started warming up. Verified that the transfer dewar valves were open and that the ion pump was working. I called Mark when a force fill from Russet failed. He described to me how to do a manual override fill. I found a large ice buildup on the camera. After defrosting many moths from their icy graves I did a manual fill and the instrument cooled again to proper temperatuures. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J. Dembicky Clouds, passing fog, high humidity, and a couple snow flakes (nothing sticking). The echelle seemed to fill for the 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM04 E I/H --:-- --:-- LN2 fill failed.
