The seeing started out excellent however degraded within an hour after 12 degree twilight. Cloud cover was thin to moderate throughout all of first half. At 2330 it became too thick to observe the object and the observer switched to cals. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan The second half observer had some bright objects that could be reached through clouds. Around 01:30 the clouds thinned, the wind picked up, the humidity started to rise, and the seeing poofed to 3 arcseconds. A litte after 03:00 the humidity reached the limit, and we closed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:44 dis-slit 30(1267) 40 73 9.3/10.8 340 2 - 0.78 18:46 NA2gdr -6(46993) 38 73 9.3/10.7 325 2 R 0.81 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 53 15 12 282 (WNW) - cloudy none 17:01 51 17 7 341 (NNW) - cloudy none 18:01 49 17 0 17 (NNE) - cloudy none 19:01 48 20 0 12 (NNE) - cloudy none 20:01 44 25 15 70 (ENE) - cloudy none 21:01 45 28 10 83 (E) - cloudy none 22:01 46 24 6 74 (ENE) - cloudy none 23:01 45 26 11 79 (ENE) - cloudy none 00:01 45 22 13 85 (E) - cloudy none 01:01 44 23 16 111 (ESE) - ptly cldy none 02:01 37 30 21 72 (ENE) ptly cldy none 03:01 36 31 18 83 (E) ptly cldy none 04:01 33 30 24 73 (ENE) ptly cldy none 05:01 30 30 22 82 (E) ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
