NA2 Guider crashed almost as soon as we started during a focus loop, but that was the only trouble encountered during first half. Initially poor seeing improved through the duration of the half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was clear with variable seeing. Everything worked well aside from the still-unhappy tertiary rotation clamp, which needed to be cajoled into closing via low-level commands. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:01 DISslit -200(541) 174 76 -3.1/-0.7 135 24 - 2.84 00:29 SPIcam 75(952) 286 43 -2.2/-3.1 190 19 R 1.11 02:03 SPIcam 150(936) 273 76 -2.1/-3.1 205 19 Empty 0.78 03:32 S-H -50(1337) 280 57 -1.8/-2.8 221 20 - poor ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 34 11 10 210 (SSW) cirrus none 17:01 28 9 17 134 (SE) cirrus none 18:01 27 8 12 147 (SSE) cirrus none 19:01 27 6 21 118 (ESE) cirrus none 20:01 25 8 12 150 (SSE) cirrus none 21:01 26 13 20 175 (S) mstly clr none 22:01 27 17 22 163 (SSE) mstly clr none 23:01 28 16 17 182 (S) clear none 00:01 29 17 16 184 (S) mstly clr none 01:01 28 19 17 187 (S) clear none 02:01 28 18 17 206 (SSW) clear none 03:01 28 18 15 226 (SW) clear none 04:01 28 18 20 229 (SW) clear none 05:01 27 18 17 236 (SW) clear none 06:01 27 17 17 226 (SW) clear none 07:01 26 16 16 215 (SW) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
