Seeing was excellent at the start of the night (suprising the CU people). It remained fairly decent thru the rest of the first half but we needed to keep an eye on focus due to the changing outside air temps. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half had persistent thin cirrus, not enough to cut throughput severely but enough to stabilize seeing to a very nice value -- the best I've seen on the slitviewer in a while. Everything worked very smoothly except for Vista chewing up a couple of images which then had to be re-transferred. But we established that the problem was not in the instrument or in TUI, so not something we need to worry about at this end. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:40 SPIcam 175(1054) 258 67 -1.3/-1.3 347 1 R 0.59 18:58 NA2guider 0 (49000) 262 64 -1.3/-1.4 15 6 R 0.63 20:00 SPIcam 25(855) 45 67 -3.3/-2.4 309 1 R 0.74 20:08 NA2guider 1305(50305) 44 68 -3.6/-2.5 2 2 R 0.99 22:01 SPIcam 100(934) 139 54 -1.7/-3.1 17 5 R 0.78 00:23 DISslit 50(660) 35 77 -2.7/-3.7 340 12 - 0.85 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 30 6 10 3 (N) - Cirrus none 17:01 30 6 13 8 (N) - Cirrus none 18:01 31 0 10 25 (NNE) - Cirrus none 19:01 30 2 1 10 (N) - Cirrus none 20:01 26 8 0 331 (NNW) - Lt.
