Pointing was off the slitviewers FOV at the beginning of the night but it was fairly straightforward to improve the pointing. First half went fairly well considering the variable seeing conditions tonight and fast moving scattered clouds. Second half, had good to moderate seeing until about 0330. I was able to get data on about 5 high priority gravitational lenses in our monitoring program before seeing exploded to large and very variable from 0430 to 0530. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:28 Echelle -107(-146) 191 74 -1.7/-0.3 202 2 nd2 1.01 20:30 Echelle 16(18) 169 46 -1.3/-1.2 269 9 nd2 1.15 00:17 SPIcam 16(813) 163 77 -2.6/-2.8 286 11 r' 0.97 00:20 NA2gdr -1016(47983)195 62 -2.6/-2.9 293 8 R 1.08 02:21 SPIcam 70(882) 313 56 -3.2/-3.5 351 4 r' 0.98 04:16 SPIcam 180(915) 339 71 -4.3/-4.4 14 11 r' 1.65 05:04 SPIcam 100(880) 335 51 -4.3/-4.7 13 10 r' 1.79 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 29 21 4 281 (W) - prtly cldy none 18:01 26 22 4 330 (NNW) - prtly cldy snow 19:01 26 19 3 115 (ESE) - prtly cldy humid 20:01 30 13 10 232 (SW) - prtly cldy none 21:01 30 15 6 261 (W) - clear none 22:01 29 15 5 264 (W) - clear none 23:01 28 17 3 269 (W) - prtly cldy none 00:01 28 16 8 288 (WNW) - prtly cldy none 01:01 27 17 10 316 (NW) - prtly cldy none 02:01 26 17 1 0 (N) - clear none 03:01 25 14 1 29 (NNE) - clear none 04:01 25 15 5 359 (N) - clear none 05:01 24 17 8 358 (N) - clear none 06:01 24 16 7 5 (N) - clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
